Picture Ights
Worksheet Description
On this worksheet, students see nine colorful images-such as a lighthouse, paper airplane, cupcake, wrestlers, moon, pointing hand, sunrise, knight, and giraffe-and must label each with the matching -ight word. They use words like light, flight, delight, fight, night, right, bright, knight, and height. Each picture has a blank box underneath where students write the correct word. The variety of images helps connect vocabulary to concrete scenes and actions.
This activity deepens phonics and vocabulary understanding by linking visual images with written -ight words. Students must recall both the meaning and spelling of each word, which strengthens memory and word retrieval. Writing the words in the blanks provides spelling practice and reinforces proper letter order. It also encourages students to use context clues from pictures, an important strategy for comprehension and word learning in real reading.
