Cut Sort
Worksheet Description
Students cut out images and paste them into the box containing the matching “ice” family word. Words include ice, lice, device, spice, mice, slice, dice, office, and rice. The lower section contains picture tiles that must be matched and glued into the correct locations. This hands-on format encourages active participation and strengthens phonics understanding.
Cut-and-paste tasks support fine motor development and spatial reasoning. Students reinforce phonics patterns as they decide which images correspond with which “ice” family word. The sorting process deepens comprehension and strengthens vocabulary connections. This builds confidence and helps internalize spelling families through multisensory learning.
This worksheet is part of our ice word family worksheet of our phonics collection.
