Sound Secrets
Worksheet Description
Prepare your students to embark on a journey through the fascinating world of consonant digraphs with our “Whispered Digraphs” worksheet. Consonant digraphs are pairs of letters that work together to produce unique sounds, and this worksheet is designed to help students recognize and use them effectively.
Instructions for Students:
- Listen and Identify: Silently say the name of each picture to yourself. Listen closely to the beginning sound of each word and identify the consonant digraph (two-letter combination) that creates that sound.
- Write the Digraph: Write the consonant digraph you hear in each word in the space provided.
This activity encourages students to develop their phonemic awareness, sharpen their digraph recognition skills, and apply their knowledge to practical word-building exercises. Many times teachers will refer to this collection and category of worksheets as “consonant diagraphs”.
