Match-Up
Worksheet Description
This worksheet asks students to match written “um” words with the correct pictures. Learners see a list of words on one side and a series of images on the other. They must connect each word to the picture that represents it, such as pairing drum with its illustration or mum with the corresponding image. The activity requires students to interpret both visual and textual information. By completing the matches, students reinforce the connection between spelling patterns and meaning.
Matching exercises strengthen reading comprehension and visual association skills. Students practice decoding words while confirming their understanding through picture clues. The activity also encourages logical thinking as learners analyze each option before selecting the correct match. Over time, these repeated associations build stronger vocabulary recognition and phonics fluency.
