Worksheet Description

Our “Comprehensive Analysis Chart” worksheet provides students with a structured approach to assess and rate the complexity of texts they encounter. It features a comprehensive table with key assessment areas.

In the “Assessment Areas” column, students will consider aspects such as layout, purpose/meaning, structure/discourse, language features, knowledge demands, motivation, knowledge, and experience, as well as the purpose and complexity of the assigned task.

For each assessment area, students will then provide their assessment of the text and the overall complexity rating (L for Low, M for Medium, or H for High).
