Welcome to the “Enhance Your Paragraph: Unleash the Supporting Details” worksheet! In this activity, you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your writing by refining the supporting details in a chosen paragraph.
Instructions:
- Choose a paragraph that you’ve written and believe could benefit from improvement.
- Identify the main idea or central theme of your paragraph.
- Write down each supporting detail used in your original paragraph. Evaluate if each detail truly supports the main idea. Ensure you have 3 to 5 well-aligned supporting details.
- Circle any details that do not directly support the main idea. Brainstorm alternative supporting details that would better complement the main idea.
- Now, rewrite your paragraph using the new and improved supporting details. If all your original details were supportive, explain why they were effective.
