California is one of the 50 states in the United States. It’s located on the west coast, which means it’s by the big, blue Pacific Ocean. It’s a super big state – in fact, it’s the third largest in the country! Because of its size, it has all sorts of places, from tall mountains to sandy beaches, and from thick forests to vast deserts.

One cool thing about California is its cities. Los Angeles is where many movies and TV shows are made. If you’ve ever dreamt of Hollywood, this is where it’s located! Stars, cameras, action! San Francisco is another awesome city, known for its beautiful Golden Gate Bridge and trolley cars that go up and down the hilly roads. Then there’s San Diego with its famous zoo and sunny beaches, and Sacramento, which is the state’s capital.

California is not just about cities, though. It has amazing nature spots too! The Redwood National Park has trees so tall, they seem to touch the sky. These trees are hundreds of years old. Imagine if they could talk and share stories of the past! The state also has a place called Death Valley, which sounds spooky, but it’s just a very hot desert. And let’s not forget the Sierra Nevada mountains, where people can go skiing in the winter.
