Sixth Analysis
Worksheet Description
Students complete a sixth-grade spelling test built around proofreading and vocabulary clues. The first five sentences each contain two spelling errors that students must find and correct. The second half gives definition clues and asks students to supply missing academic words. The vocabulary includes terms connected to community work, science, machines, investigation, and evidence.
This worksheet helps students move beyond simple recognition and begin editing more demanding sentences. Finding two errors requires sustained attention and prevents them from stopping after the first correction. Definition clues also test whether students know the meaning of each word well enough to recall its spelling independently. This strengthens proofreading, vocabulary, reasoning, and middle school writing readiness.
