Worksheet Description
This worksheet prompts students to engage in a comparative analysis of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility” as a novel and its film adaptation. Students are encouraged to draw from their reading experience and the movie to address the following questions:
- They will compare and contrast their imagined setting from the book with its portrayal in the film adaptation.
- Students will identify at least one major choice made by the film director to deviate from the novel and provide insights into why the director made this change. They will also evaluate whether this alteration enhances or diminishes the overall impact of the film.
By engaging with these questions, students will enhance their critical thinking skills, gain a deeper understanding of the adaptation process, and explore the ways in which different mediums convey the same story.
