Worksheet Description

Students listen to eight sentences that are written without correct capitalization or punctuation. They rewrite each sentence by adding capital letters and at least two kinds of punctuation where needed. The examples include questions, commands, dialogue, lists, place names, transitions, and titles. Students must listen carefully because the teacher’s voice helps them hear where pauses and sentence endings belong.

This worksheet helps students understand that punctuation gives readers important clues about meaning and expression. Listening for pauses, questions, and changes in tone teaches them where marks should be placed. Rewriting the complete sentence also gives practice with capital letters for names, places, and sentence beginnings. This strengthens grammar, listening, sentence fluency, and editing skills.
