Picture Matching
Worksheet Description
This worksheet is designed for children to learn about shapes. It features a prominent oval on the left side of the page and a selection of various pictures on the right side, including a baseball, a football, a pear, and a palette, each with elements of oval shapes within them. The task is to color the pictures and then draw lines connecting the large oval to those pictures that contain oval shapes. Below the main activity, there’s a space for the student’s name and a section to express how they felt about the activity with emoticons.
The worksheet is aimed at helping students recognize oval shapes in different contexts and objects. By coloring and connecting the images with the oval shape, the activity engages the student’s visual discrimination skills, important for shape recognition. Drawing lines to the matching shapes also develops fine motor control and the understanding of relationships between objects and their geometric properties. The emoticon self-assessment at the end encourages students to think critically about their own work and to express their feelings about the task they completed.
