Define And Make Connections

Note Taking #15

Worksheet Description

This “Note Taking” worksheet is designed to help students efficiently organize their study sessions. The sheet is segmented into several sections, each dedicated to a specific aspect of note-taking, and is adorned with educational graphics that serve as visual cues for the students. At the top, there is a space allocated for the student’s name and the topic at hand, allowing for personalized and topic-specific notes.

The first large box, labeled “Key Points,” is where students can record the most important aspects of their lectures or readings. Adjacent to this is a column titled “Key Terms,” which provides a space to list out significant terms and their definitions, ensuring that students grasp the vocabulary essential to the subject. Below the “Key Terms” column is a smaller box for “Words to Define,” giving students an area to jot down new or unfamiliar terms for later research. On the bottom left, the “Make Connections” section encourages students to relate the current material to previously learned topics or real-world applications, enhancing deeper learning. Finally, a “Summary” section at the bottom of the worksheet prompts students to write a concise recapitulation of their notes, solidifying their understanding of the subject matter. This structured approach to note-taking aids in creating a comprehensive and useful resource for studying and revision.
