More or Less Puzzle
Worksheet Description
This worksheet was designed with a series of numbers placed in a scattered layout throughout the page, with empty boxes connected to them. The task instructs students to use a 100s chart to find the numbers that are 10 more, 10 less, 1 more, and 1 less than the given numbers. Each number has four boxes connected to it, presumably for the students to write the corresponding numbers that fulfill the ‘more and less’ criteria. At the bottom of the page, there is a section titled “How Did You Do?” with three faces representing different levels of success or emotion for self-assessment.
The worksheet’s aim is to teach students about numerical patterns and relationships on a 100s chart. It encourages understanding of the base-ten system by having them calculate numbers that are incrementally more or less than the given numbers. This exercise strengthens place value comprehension and arithmetic skills. Additionally, the self-assessment at the end fosters reflective thinking about the student’s own learning process and understanding.
