Leap Year

Leap Year Editing Worksheet

Worksheet Description

A leap year is a year that contains an extra day, February 29th, to keep our calendar year synchronized with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. It occurs approximately every four years when an extra day is added to the calendar, making the year 366 days long instead of the usual 365 days. Leap years are necessary to account for the slightly longer time it takes Earth to complete its orbit, which is about 365.2422 days.
