Infinitive Detective

Worksheet Description

This worksheet is designed to develop students’ ability to recognize and identify infinitives in sentences. Each sentence in the worksheet is carefully crafted to either contain an infinitive or not. Students are instructed to read each sentence and determine whether it contains an infinitive or not.

If a sentence does contain an infinitive, students are asked to underline the infinitive in the sentence. This exercise not only helps students practice their skill of recognizing infinitives but also reinforces their understanding of how infinitives function in sentence structures.

For sentences that do not contain an infinitive, students are instructed to put an “X” through the corresponding number. This part of the activity allows students to differentiate between sentences with and without infinitives, helping them develop a clear understanding of what constitutes an infinitive.
