X The Big One

X The Big One Worksheet

Worksheet Description

This worksheet presents a series of paired images, with each pair depicting two different objects. Students are instructed to place an “X” next to the image that they believe represents the heavier object. The pairs include a light bulb and a microscope, a pineapple and a pear, a basketball and a bowling ball, as well as a motorcycle and a bicycle. The worksheet provides boxes next to each image for students to mark their choices.

The purpose of this worksheet is to enhance students’ understanding of weight as a physical property by having them compare different objects. It teaches them to evaluate and make judgments about the relative mass of various items that are commonly found in their environment. This exercise is intended to develop critical thinking skills by requiring students to assess and compare the weight of items without physical measurement. It also serves to familiarize students with the concept that the size of an object does not always correspond directly to its weight.
