At School Worksheet

Worksheet Description

This worksheet is a “Getting to Know You” activity that prompts students to provide information about themselves. The questions are designed to elicit responses about the student’s name, favorite subject, strengths inside and outside of school, and an interesting personal fact. The second part of the worksheet encourages interactive engagement: students are instructed to trade their completed worksheet with a classmate they do not know well, read their classmate’s answers, and then write down two questions they would like to ask to further the conversation. It culminates in the students asking and answering these questions with one another.

The worksheet’s purpose is to facilitate student interaction and to help build a classroom community by sharing personal information and interests. It aims to teach students how to engage in meaningful conversations with their peers, starting with structured prompts and leading to their own questions. This activity not only encourages social skills but also helps students practice active listening and response formulation. Additionally, the exercise can aid in developing written and verbal communication skills, as students must articulate their thoughts in writing and then verbally during the exchange.
