Feeling Thermometer
Worksheet Description
This worksheet invites students to look at different facial expressions and decide what emotion each face represents. After identifying the feeling, students write the emotion on the line next to the picture. They then estimate how strong the emotion might be by drawing a line on a thermometer-style scale. The activity encourages students to think about both recognizing emotions and understanding how emotions can vary in intensity.
Completing this worksheet helps students strengthen emotional awareness and recognition skills. As they label feelings and evaluate emotional intensity, they practice observing facial cues and interpreting emotional signals. This activity also helps students build vocabulary for describing emotions and encourages reflection on how strong feelings can be. Over time, these skills support better self-regulation, empathy, and communication in social and academic environments.
This worksheet is part of our emotional regulation toolkit DBT Therapy worksheet series.
