Emoji Actions

Emoji Actions Worksheet

Worksheet Description

Students study an emoji clue and sentence for each of twelve action words. They choose the correctly spelled -ed or -ing form from several similar choices and then write the matching root word. The sentences describe familiar actions such as hopping, baking, hiding, clapping, carrying, and landing. The emojis provide an extra picture clue that helps students understand the action.

This worksheet helps students connect a verb’s basic form with the way it changes inside a sentence. Comparing several spellings teaches them to notice missing letters, extra letters, and incorrect consonant doubling. Writing the root word also shows how the changed form is connected to the original verb. This builds word-family knowledge, grammar understanding, spelling accuracy, and visual learning skills.

This worksheet is part of our adding -ed and -ing worksheet series.
