Creating -Ed Words
Worksheet Description
This interactive activity will engage students in practicing and expanding their knowledge of forming the past tense of verbs with -ed endings. Through four different patterns, students will enhance their understanding of how to modify verbs to indicate past actions or events.
In this worksheet, students will be provided with four sections: “Add d,” “Add ed,” “Change y to i and add ed,” and “Double the consonant and add ed.” In each section, students are tasked with writing eight words that follow the specified pattern. By doing so, they will demonstrate their ability to apply the appropriate rule to create the past tense form of the given verbs.
By completing this worksheet, students will develop a stronger grasp of regular verb conjugation and expand their vocabulary. It provides a hands-on approach to learning, allowing students to actively engage with language and reinforce their understanding of forming the past tense.
