Swapping Papers
Worksheet Description
This worksheet is an interactive exercise designed for students to practice writing concluding sentences collaboratively. In the first part, students are instructed to write a brief paragraph on a topic they are knowledgeable about, deliberately leaving out the concluding sentence. The second part of the activity requires students to swap their papers with a classmate, read the paragraph provided by their peer, and then write a suitable concluding sentence for it.
The worksheet teaches students the importance of understanding and creating effective concluding sentences that wrap up the main ideas of a paragraph. It also introduces the concept of peer review and collaborative writing by having students exchange their work. This exercise allows students to engage with different writing styles and content, challenging them to think critically about how best to conclude a paragraph that they did not write themselves. The activity aims to enhance students’ editing skills and their ability to summarize and reflect on the key points of a paragraph succinctly.
