Students complete four short news-style passages by adding ck or k to missing words. The stories describe a forest campout, a lakeside rescue, an invention contest, and a mountain search. Each blank appears inside a full sentence, so students must use both the surrounding meaning and the spelling rule. They then write the complete word in the passage.
