Blurred Realities
Worksheet Description
Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are immersive technologies that alter the way users experience and interact with digital content. VR immerses the user in a completely digital environment, shutting out the physical world.
Using specialized headsets, users can enter computer-generated landscapes, scenarios, or simulations, experiencing them as if they were physically present within that space. In contrast, AR overlays digital elements onto the real world, enhancing the user’s perception of their surroundings.
Rather than replacing the real world as VR does, AR adds digital components, such as graphics, sounds, or haptic feedback, onto it. This can be achieved using devices like smartphones, tablets, or specialized AR glasses. Both VR and AR offer transformative potential across various fields, including entertainment, education, medicine, and design.
