Worksheet Description

The “Black History Month” worksheet is an educational resource designed to engage students in the recognition and celebration of influential Black individuals and their contributions. It begins with a section for the student’s name, creating a personal entry point into the activity. The worksheet then prompts students to research and write about an individual of significance, providing spaces for the person’s name, nationality, age, achievements or contributions, and occupation(s).

Below the informational sections, the worksheet includes a square space for students to draw a portrait of the individual they are studying. This visual component allows for a creative expression of what the student has learned. Additionally, there is a lined area with the prompt “Why you chose them,” which encourages students to reflect on their personal reasons for selecting the individual and to articulate the inspiration they draw from their story. This reflective aspect of the worksheet highlights the relevance of Black history in the personal lives of students and invites them to consider the broader implications of the achievements and contributions of Black individuals in society.
