Who Said That? Worksheet

Worksheet Description

Draw a line to indicate the sounds that each of these critters may make.  This is one of the simpler sheets in this section.

This worksheet is a learning activity for children where they must match illustrations of animals with the sounds these animals are known to make. The left column of the worksheet shows pictures of four animals, which include a panda and a snake. On the right column, there are speech bubbles with onomatopoeic sound words such as “Hiss,” “Tweet,” “Moo,” and “Neigh.” The children need to draw lines from each animal to the bubble containing the sound that animal typically makes.

The aim of this worksheet is to help children learn the association between animals and the unique sounds they produce. It teaches students to recognize and understand the concept of onomatopoeia, where a word phonetically imitates the sound it describes. This activity also stimulates cognitive development by challenging the students to make connections based on their knowledge of animal behaviors. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for children to practice fine motor skills as they draw the lines between the animals and their sounds.
