Did You Hear That? Worksheet

Worksheet Description

3 of these sounds students will definitely be familiar with, the other 3; not so much.  We recommend review the terms with students. This makes for a good take-home activity for students.

This worksheet is a matching game where children need to link farm animals with their corresponding sounds. At the bottom of the page, there are images of five farm animals, including a cow and a chicken. Above these images are speech bubbles with animal sounds written in them, such as “MOO,” “SNORT,” “MEOW,” “CLUCK,” “BRAY,” and “BLEAT.” The objective for the students is to draw a line from each sound to the appropriate farm animal that makes that noise.

The educational goal of this worksheet is to help students learn and recognize the sounds that different farm animals make. It is designed to promote associative learning by connecting visual images of animals with the sounds they are known for. This activity also encourages the development of vocabulary related to animal sounds, introducing students to a variety of onomatopoeic words. In the process of matching, it also helps to refine the students’ fine motor skills as they draw lines between the animals and their sounds.
