The Spinning Wheel

The Spinning Wheel Worksheet

Worksheet Description

You can use this as a worksheet or a game. You can make it into a spinner that students can take part in as groups.  We made it this way, so you have the option to make it more interactive and appealing for students.

This worksheet features a pie chart with eight segments, each containing an illustration of a different animal. The animals include a pig, cow, snake, lion, among others. Alongside the chart, there is a list of eight animal sounds such as “oink,” “caw,” “hiss,” “roar,” and others. The instructions ask students to write the number corresponding to each sound in front of the animal that makes it, requiring them to match the sound to the correct animal depicted in the pie chart.

The worksheet is designed to teach students to identify various animals by the sounds they typically make, using a visual pie chart format for engagement. It encourages the students to connect visual information (the animal images) with auditory information (the animal sounds). This helps in developing cognitive skills such as memory and association. Furthermore, the task also serves to expand the students’ vocabulary of onomatopoeic words and improves their understanding of animal characteristics and behaviors.
