Furry Animals

Furry Animals

Worksheet Description

Students will cut and paste the images of the panda, lemur, flying squirrel and tarsier.  The students will match the pictures to following descriptions:

  • I eat insects, lizards, and snakes.
  • I love eating bamboo shoots.
  • I’m not a bird, but I can fly.
  • I live in Madagascar.

The worksheet offers students a set of clues that describe specific animals, accompanied by illustrations of potential matching animals. Each descriptive clue provides information about the diet, behavior, habitat, or unique attributes of a particular animal. Students are challenged to use their knowledge and observational skills to associate each clue with the right animal image. The goal is to identify the animal being described based on the given hints.

To engage with this worksheet, students should begin by attentively reading each individual clue. They should reflect on the details presented in the hint, considering which animal aligns with the characteristics or behaviors described. With the information from the clues in mind, students will then associate each statement with the corresponding animal illustration. The activity reaches completion when every clue has been aptly matched to its respective animal.

The primary objective of this worksheet is to bolster students’ analytical and deductive reasoning skills. It prompts them to draw connections between textual descriptions and visual representations, enriching their understanding of animal behaviors, diets, and habitats. The task of matching clues to images also encourages critical thinking and hones their decision-making abilities based on provided context. Through this engaging exercise, students not only learn more about diverse animal species but also develop valuable cognitive skills.
