Comparisons to Ancient Mesopotamia

Worksheet Description

Choose two civilizations from Ancient Mesopotamia to compare and contrast.

Here is an example: Ancient Mesopotamia to Ancient Egypt

ncient Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt were two of the earliest and most influential civilizations in human history. They both developed around the same time, and while they shared some similarities, they also had significant differences in their cultures, political systems, and religious beliefs.

Both civilizations developed around major river systems, which provided fertile land for agriculture and allowed them to establish thriving, complex societies. Mesopotamia was located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, while Egypt was centered around the Nile River.

Mesopotamia had a dry, semi-arid climate with unpredictable flooding, while Egypt had a more predictable, annual flood cycle and a generally stable climate. This affected their respective agricultural practices, architecture, and outlook on life.
