Worksheet Description

An adverbial clause is a dependent clause that modifies a verb. In each sentence in this worksheet, students will find the adverbial clause. They will then write the word it modifies on the short line and the clause on the longer line. Lastly, they need to circle the subordinate conjunction (words that tell how, when, why or where).

This exercise helps students develop a deeper understanding of sentence structure and grammar. It enhances their ability to recognize and analyze the role of adverbial clauses in modifying other parts of the sentence. By circling the subordinate conjunction, students also gain familiarity with these important connecting words, further improving their comprehension of complex sentences and enhancing their overall writing skills.
