Sentence Composition

Sentence Composition

Worksheet Description

A subordinate clause is a clause that cannot stand alone as a complete sentence because it does not express a complete thought. Instead, it is dependent on the main clause of the sentence to provide context and meaning.  On this worksheet, students will choose from the selection of given subordinate clauses and compose their own sentences with adverb clauses.

This exercise allows students to actively engage with the material and apply their knowledge of sentence structure. By creating their own sentences, they develop their creativity and critical thinking skills as they consider the appropriate context and meaning for each adverb clause. By completing this worksheet, students strengthen their understanding of how adverb clauses function in sentences, enhancing their overall writing proficiency and ability to express complex ideas effectively.
