Object Counts

Object Counts

Worksheet Description

This worksheet is a learning tool focused on teaching addition through counting objects. It features rows of images, each row containing two sets of objects such as pencils and bananas, that students must count and sum up. Each set of objects is within its own box to visually separate them, making it easier for students to count. The right side of the worksheet has blank boxes where students are expected to write the total number of objects after adding the two sets together in each row.

The worksheet aims to strengthen students’ ability to count objects and perform simple addition. It assists in developing their number recognition by providing a clear visual representation of the numbers they need to add. This exercise also encourages the association of numerical values with physical quantities, a foundational math skill. By writing down the sum, students practice numerical writing and understand the concept of addition as the process of combining two quantities to form a new total.

Write the total number of objects in the box to the right.  All of the items represent addends of sum problems.
