Students act as newspaper editors while reading two unusual reports from the Oddville Daily. Each story contains several misspelled -ed and -ing words that students must locate and correct. One article describes a giant pancake rolling through town, while the other tells about penguins taking over a grocery store. Students write the repaired words in the newsroom notes below each passage.

This worksheet helps students apply word-ending rules inside full paragraphs instead of working only with lists. Sentence meaning gives students clues about whether an action happened in the past or is happening now.
